Nowadays people are getting hooked on a sport they call basketball. Most of them, especially college students, spend their time and money just to watch the UAAP Basketball League games. Many rumors state that there are two superior teams in the league: the defending champions or should I say the Ateneo Blue Eagles; and their greatest contender and arch-rival, the De La Salle Green Archers. These two teams have a great potential in becoming the king of the season because both teams can play spectacularly in terms of defense and offense.
As we can see, these two teams gathered all potential players in the country to form a great team. Ateneo has a good offense and passing skills while La Salle is one of the best defensive team in the season. According to the experts, Ateneo has a big chance to make a back-to-back championship because only two players graduated in their team. On the other hand, La Salle lost their two key players. Coach Pumaren (coach of La Salle) said that their team this year can be considered a “rookie team” because half of the team is comprised of rookies. Ateneo concentrates on their offense and passing strategies with the help of their key player, Rabeh Alhusani and Eric Salamat. On the other hand, Green Archers James Mangahas has improved his strength and speed as a basketball player.
This coming August 9, 2009, the unforgettable match will begin between the Blue Eagles and Green Archers. Both teams can make history that will stay in the minds of all people. So let’s see, which team is the best; the defending champion or their greatest contender?
